The success of TranUnion’s system grew the company’s business significantly and TransUnion continues today to look for cutting edge technological advancements to make their business and services even more efficient.

Firsts

TransUnion became an industry leader by staying one step ahead of the competition and chalking up an impressive list of firsts in the credit bureau industry as the company steamrolled its way to the top. TransUnion was the first to eliminate manual data entry in favor of an automated tape-to-disc transfer system which combined with the nation’s first online storage/access system of credit information called Credit Reporting On-Line Network Utility System (CRONUS) to make TransUnion the industry standard in technology. Continuing in their commitment to excellence, TransUnion has established the Fraud Victim Assistance Department which is designed to help individuals who have been victimized by the ever increasing problem of identity theft and credit fraud. In order to make data searches even more convenient for clients, TransUnion was also the first to allow credit searches based on individual’s nicknames.
